Although mildly dyslexic, I find writing is a helpful way to document, explain and share what's impacting my work as a Brand Consultant - and 2025 was a year when I attempted to write an impactful article at least once a month.
As the year comes to a close, I wanted to pause and reflect on the ideas that resonated most this year on my blog. These are the posts that sparked the most conversations with leaders, showed up in workshops and offsites, and helped people make sense of brand, culture, and strategy in practice - not just theory.

Here are the 10 standout articles of 2025 for your enjoyment:
A practical breakdown of brand equity without the fluff. This piece connects brand thinking directly to leadership decision-making and long-term value creation.
A favourite with strategy teams. This article shows how meaningful opposites create clarity, force choices, and sharpen positioning — fast.
A reframing of competition itself. Instead of fighting harder, this piece explores how the strongest brands redefine the game altogether.
One of the most-read posts of the year. A pragmatic take on how brands win when “true differentiation” feels out of reach — but memorability and salience don’t.
Culture change is often talked about and rarely delivered. This article unpacks why most efforts stall — and what leaders can actually do to shift behaviour.
A leadership-level look at one of the biggest blockers to growth: misalignment. This one strongly resonated with exec teams navigating scale, change, and complexity.
One of the most practically useful posts of the year. A clear guide to building an EVP that’s authentic, evidence-based, and genuinely useful — not just a set of HR slogans.
A short but powerful shift in perspective — from generic employer branding to actually understanding who your organisation is built for.
A real-world moment where brand strategy met public scrutiny. A reflection on reputation, trust, and brand meaning through a live national conversation.
A sharp reminder that strategy isn’t about decks or decisions — it’s about follow-through, leadership behaviour, and organisational will. A fitting close to the year’s themes of alignment, culture, and execution.
Looking Ahead
Across these ten pieces, a clear theme emerged in 2025:
Strategy only works when it’s lived, not just agreed.
Thank you to everyone who read, shared, challenged, and applied these ideas this year - in boardrooms, leadership offsites, workshops, and real decisions.
More to come in 2026. See you there!
